This is a general FAQ that I’d thought I would add
Q: Do the nagging of “jokes” or people making fun of you inspire/make you mad enough to perform better at losing weight?
For some people, it does. It kind of gives them a boost, like “just you wait and see”. I guess at some point, that “helped” me, but you know what?
Hell to the no.
Sure, a lot of people made/still make fun of me (mostly in grade school/high school). Or, it’s the general come back of saying anything remotely intelligent to someone:
Me: “I don’t think that’s right, let me explain…”
Moron: “OMG YOU’RE FAT HAHAHAHAHAHA (doesn’t listen to anything I said, continues to high-five his/her fellow buddies for, apparently, the greatest comeback of the century).”
Congratu-fucking-lations, your eye sight is pretty close to 20/20.
Getting back to the point, I don’t understand how someone telling me I’m fat and not actually insulting me for my intelligence (or something that actually matters in a human being) makes me want to be “better” for that individual or more importantly, myself. People will always find something to make fun of you (or still call you fat, because apparently in our society, having ANY flab of skin makes you a fatty-fatty 2×4).
Q: What foods are you eating?
A: Well, it’s been my personal experience that solely eating “diet food” (such as Smart Ones of Lean Cuisines) is a terrible idea. I heard of Paleo (hey, don’t click “x” yet; I’m not a die hard, EAT OR DIE kind of lady) and liked its principles: eating food in its “purest” form, or not processed.
Don’t get me wrong, I still have the Smart Ones and the Lean Cuisines, but it’s not all I eat.
